SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Galvanize, a leading technology education company focused on data science, web development and entrepreneurship, today announced its collaboration with IBM and the launch of the Galvanize Bluemix Academy, an eight-week immersive program that will increase skills around modern development methods. The program will support IBM enterprise customers with continuous organizational development and will offer engineering teams worldwide cutting-edge methods, skills and tooling to be successful.
Every company needs to learn how to become an agile, continuous learning machine and no business can hide from this tide. Companies that modernize their infrastructure, must modernize their engineering talent or face extinction. Galvanize Bluemix Academy will provide IBM's largest strategic customers with the ability to expedite this organizational transformation. The program will allow traditional IT organizations to modernize their development approaches while rapidly developing or migrating IBM Bluemix applications with the guidance of a skilled mentor.
IBM Bluemix unleashes the power of cloud with accelerated development capabilities on its open standards, cloud platform for building, running, and managing applications and services. The Bluemix catalog includes over 140 tools and services spanning categories of big data, mobile, Watson, analytics, integration, DevOps, security and Internet of Things.
“We’re excited to get our enterprise customers into our innovative and experiential environment, where they can learn the best information from the best teachers,” said Steve Robinson, general manager, IBM Cloud. “We believe educating IT organizations on our cloud technology in this collaborative way can help fuel a whole new level of next generation app development.”
At the conclusion of the program, customers will not only leave with deployed projects, but will have experienced a transformation in their development all while building internal employee competencies for additional productivity in the future.
“As organizations adopt platforms that enable continuous development opportunities, the same organization needs to modernize their engineering teams on the methods, skills and tooling to be successful,” said Jim Deters CEO of Galvanize. “We are proud to continue to collaborate with IBM to offer modern organizational development technical skills that support human capital transformation.”
Galvanize is already running Immersive Programs in IBM's Bluemix Garage, an experiential collaboration space for developers, in Galvanize’s San Francisco campus. The most recent program, Galvanize Bluemix Academy, is poised to debut on-site at this location this spring as well as Galvanize campuses nationwide including Denver, Austin, and Phoenix in fall 2016. The program will also be offered to IBM Bluemix Garage locations globally and plans to also expand many of IBM’s strategic customers this year. The program has the capacity to impact thousands of developers worldwide to significantly modernize IT organizations.
