BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sentenai, developer of cloud infrastructure that applies machine learning techniques to automate data engineering, today announced it closed a $1.8 million Series Seed investment with Flybridge Capital Partners, Founder Collective, Project 11 Ventures, and Hyperplane Venture Capital. The company will use the funding to build out its engineering team and continue the development of Sentenai’s data delivery network.
“As data sets continue to proliferate, the complexity of ingesting, organizing and managing them has become a huge challenge for companies,” said Jeff Bussgang of Flybridge. “Sentenai has developed a truly unique solution that enables companies to save valuable time and resources by outsourcing their data engineering processes and eliminating the need to develop a full stack data management infrastructure. “
Founded by Rohit Gupta and Brendan Kohler, Sentenai’s primary application is in enabling automated intelligent systems to make better decisions using behavioral data streams and historical data repositories. The platform uses machine learning to drastically simplify the data infrastructure for companies that must use a large number of varied data streams to make real-time predictions. Relevant industries for the application include Internet of Things (IoT), logistics, operations and other verticals with data rich modalities.
“We believe Sentenai’s vision for the next generation of infrastructure fills a large need for companies managing massively complex, heterogeneous data sets,” said David Frankel of Founder Collective. “We are impressed with the early customer demand for the product and look forward to working with Rohit and Brendan to bring the platform to market.”
As part of the funding, Project 11 Ventures’ Reed Sturtevant will join the company’s Board of Directors, and Jeff Bussgang of Flybridge Capital and David Frankel of Founder Collective will serve as Board Observers.
