LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kopin® Corporation (Nasdaq:KOPN), a leading developer and provider of innovative wearable technologies and solutions for head-worn computing and display systems, today announced the Vista VR series of products, a new generation of microdisplays for the immersive Virtual Reality (VR) markets. This series of High Definition (HD) micro LCDs allows OEMs to integrate VR viewers in small, elegant consumer friendly products. The Vista VR displays will be unveiled during Kopin’s exclusive CES 2016 VIP Technology Reception at the Venetian Penthouse Suites.
“The VR market is rapidly emerging, but growth is limited by large, bulky form factors,” said Dr. John C.C. Fan, Kopin’s CEO and founder. “Disruptive miniaturization with innovative microdisplays and small optics is critical to creating light-weight, portable and consumer friendly devices. Kopin’s Vista VR series of displays enables designers and engineers to deliver the smallest, lightest and most widely adopted immersive VR systems. Our Vista VR SXGA displays have been incorporated in the world’s smallest, high-resolution VR system by DloDlo, which is thin (16 mm) and weighs only 78 g, yet provides a fully immersive 100° field of view.”
Vista VR 720P displays are aimed for applications with an intermediate field of view (< 50°). These displays are being designed in to a variety of applications including the first person viewer for drone racing, an immersive viewer for entertainment, and a monitor for dentists.
