DES MOINES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Iowa Smoke Free Homes has launched a completely redesigned website which serves as the hub for information about secondhand smoke, property listings and how property owners can participate in the program. The website, which can be found at https://smokefreehomes.iowa.gov, uses a responsive design enabling visitors to use their smartphones or tablets with the same functionality as visitors using a desktop computer.
The website tools provide potential renters a smoke free property search. This search can display all the available properties through a dynamic map or a filterable list view. The site also provides property managers and owners an application where they can submit their smoke free properties to be added to the site property listing. All these services are provided at no cost to the renter or the property owner.
“Our site allows us to interact with our constituents more effectively and it also gives us the ability to quickly provide the most accurate program information possible,” said Sieglinde Prior, Smoke Free Homes Coordinator. “Keeping our website up-to-date with the latest technology while providing user-friendly functionality is important to us, especially with the increasing dependence on mobile devices in today’s culture.”
The website was redesigned in partnership with Iowa Interactive, LLC, of Des Moines. The Iowa Smoke Free Homes and Iowa Interactive operate under a self-funded model in which no additional tax dollars were used to develop or maintain the website.
The Iowa Smoke Free Homes website is the twelfth state agency to implement Iowa Interactive’s content management system (CMS). In addition to the CMS product, Iowa Interactive manages the state’s official Web portal, Iowa.gov, and specializes in other online government applications.
