SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Sunday night, FanDuel, the leader in the daily fantasy sports industry, crowned its 2015 World Fantasy Football champion: Roman Edmond, 43, of suburban Washington, D.C., who took home the title and $3 million grand prize. With two Green Bay players in his lineup in the final game of the slate, Edmond jumped from eighth place to the number one position in 60 tense and exciting minutes of game time. Football Hall of Famer and FanDuel investor Joe Montana presented the grand prize at Sunday’s live final viewing party, held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt – where two female competitors finished in the top 10.
“I’m excited to win, I’m speechless,” said Edmond after finding out he won. “It’s a great community of players here: when Eddie Lacy scored at the end of the game, they were all cheering for me. I’d like to take this championship and be a true ambassador for the game,” said Edmond. Edmond went on to credit Todd Gurley as the player that truly took his team over the top, and has promised a future tribute to the St. Louis running back.

Green, Allen Hurns, Alshon Jeffery, Delanie Walker, Mason Crosby and the Kansas City defense. In all, three millionaires were made at the event: second place ($1.5 million) went to Steve Light of Marietta, Georgia while the $1 million third place finish was David Aguilar of Honolulu.
To compete in the 2015 FanDuel World Fantasy Football Championship, players won one of 120 qualifying leagues held throughout the football season on www.FanDuel.com. Each qualifying league winner won a San Diego trip package that included airfare, transportation, a three-night stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt and a minimum prize of $20,000.
