Volkswagen Class Action Emission Suit Venue Set for Northern California

Edwards Kirby Filed First Class Action Lawsuit in North Carolina Against Volkswagen

RALEIGH, N.C.--()--The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said Tuesday the cases against Volkswagen will be heard by U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer in the Northern District of California. There have been more than 500 civil lawsuits filed against Volkswagen over the use of software to avoid emissions limits.

“The integrity and safety of cars and every product sold is at stake in this litigation,” said Former U.S. Senator John Edwards of Edwards Kirby. "These cases will involve the Court, U.S. regulatory agencies, Congress, and other governments across the world. Judge Breyer is experienced and well respected, and the Court has the opportunity to show the world that our judicial system is still the gold standard. Our system will be judged on how the consumers were treated and whether justice was achieved.”

Edwards recently gave the keynote address in San Francisco at Bridgeport Legal's Conference on the Volkswagen case. He spoke about how the world is looking to America for leadership on justice for the Volkswagen fraud, while also discussing the legal intricacies of this case.

Edwards Kirby is continuing to expand its suit against Volkswagen. Attorneys working on the Volkswagen litigation can be contacted at (866) 409-2250 or http://edwardskirby.com/volkswagen-class-action-lawsuit/.
