MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (Allianz Life®) has promoted Bill Gaumond to chief financial officer, effective Jan. 1, 2016. In his new role, Gaumond will be responsible for all financial functions of Allianz Life, including business finance, accounting and controlling, business intelligence, treasury, tax, and corporate risk management. Gaumond will report directly to Allianz Life President and CEO Walter White. He succeeds Giulio Terzariol, who will join Allianz SE (Allianz Life’s parent company) in Munich to lead Group Planning and Controlling.

Gaumond has held several leadership roles with Allianz Life and Allianz SE since 2004. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of Asset Liability and Investment Risk Management, leading a team of actuarial and investment professionals responsible for helping shape the investment, hedging and product strategies of Allianz Life.
Prior to that, Gaumond was a senior member with Group Planning and Controlling at Allianz SE in Munich, where he led a team of analysts responsible for financial oversight of international operating entities within the Allianz network. Gaumond also previously held various leadership roles in the Finance division at Allianz Life. He began his career in the audit division of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC in Minneapolis.
Gaumond holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, IN.
