NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Effective Jan. 1, 2016, ShopKeep announced today that President and CEO, Norm Merritt, will be stepping down as head of the company for personal reasons. In the nearly two years since Norm assumed leadership at the company, ShopKeep has experienced significant growth in terms of revenue, merchant adoption and the addition of new services fueled by two acquisitions. During the same period, Norm expanded and strengthened the company’s leadership team with the appointments of Etie Hertz (SVP), Andrew Gorrin (CMO), John Baule (CFO) and Michael DeSimone (COO).
ShopKeep’s Board of Directors accepted this decision, and together with Norm, formalized a transition plan to position the company for future success. Michael DeSimone, who was formerly CEO of Borderfree, a publicly traded company sold to Pitney-Bowes in 2015, will serve as ShopKeep’s acting CEO.
