HOLLYWOOD, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--To usher in the holiday season, Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood, Curio – A Collection by Hilton, has unveiled a 22-foot Christmas tree comprised of 12,500 French macarons, the popular meringue-based sweets.
The first ever of its size, the “Magical Macaron Holiday Tree” was created by Diplomat’s Executive Pastry Chef Henry Martignago and his culinary team. The masterpiece was created with 1,200 eggs, 200 pounds of sugar 10x sugar, 165 pounds of almond flour, and 132 pounds of granulated sugar.
The hotel will have a mini-pastry kitchen made entirely of gingerbread adjacent to the lobby display of the Macaron tree, offering made-to-order macarons with holiday flavors such as pumpkin spice and peppermint. Guests and visitors can also enjoy sampling macaron-inspired cocktails at the property’s restaurants and Lobby Bar.
