8x8 Awarded New Patent for Voice Routing Technology

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--8x8, Inc. (Nasdaq:EGHT), a leading provider of cloud-based unified communications and contact center solutions, today announced that it was awarded a new patent related to its voice routing technologies.

On December 1, 2015, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) issued United States Patent number 9,203,652 entitled “Systems, Methods, Devices and Arrangements for Cost-Effective Routing.” The ‘652 patent relates to a variety of methods, systems, devices and arrangements for assessing and/or controlling call routing for IP communications. According to one such method, endpoint devices are used to monitor and/or assess call quality. The assessment is sent to a centralized server arrangement and call routing is controlled therefrom.

Since its establishment, 8x8 has been awarded 113 United States patents covering a variety of voice and video communications, signaling, processing and storage technologies.
