TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As Neutra Corp. (OTCQB: NTRR) continues working to deliver safer, better solutions for cultivators across North America, cannabis businesses and state agencies are still grappling with the use of potentially harmful pesticides in the nascent industry. A recent independent study found dangerous levels of pesticides in cannabis products in Denver.
A CNN report published on Wednesday discovered that at least one over-the-counter cannabis concentrate tested positive for a neurotoxin named imidacloprid. According to the Colorado Department of Agriculture, it’s a chemical that cannot be used on cannabis crops. Due to CNN’s sample finding, 2,362 cannabis products were voluntarily recalled earlier in the month.
The city of Denver announced its ninth cannabis recall in 10 weeks over pesticide concerns on November 18. The city now requires social-media announcements for each recall. With the help of its joint venture partners, NTRR is marketing cutting-edge technologies designed to help reduce and eliminate the use of harsh chemicals in cannabis cultivation.
“Recalls are bad for the entire industry,” said NTRR CEO Chris Brown. “Most growers are going out of their way to stay compliant with shifting regulations, but there remains a clear need for superior products and services that can help them produce strong, healthy crops without relying upon harsh chemicals.”
Alongside joint venture partner Surface to Air Solutions (S2O2), NTRR offers cannabis growers and other businesses a suite of horticultural products—including a plant stimulant, an air-scrubber and a self-cleaning hard surface treatment—that helps keep plants and surfaces free from mold, powdery mildew, botrytis, and mites. These products allow healthy plants to thrive without the use of pesticides and fungicides. Its products are currently in use at growing facilities in Colorado, Canada and Hawaii.
