BEACHWOOD, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Champion ONE today announced it will join the National Photonics Initiative (NPI), an alliance of top scientific societies uniting industry and academia to raise awareness of photonics, as a collaborator, a title given to those organizations that wish to demonstrate a high level of public support and endorsement for the NPI.
“Technological innovation has been at the heart of Champion ONE’s mission since it was founded over 20 years ago,” says CEO John Jutila. “We appreciate the hard work of both the NPI and its fellow collaborators, and are committed to doing what we can to further this crucial initiative and support the continued advancement of the photonics industry.”
Champion ONE will work with the NPI to increase collaboration and coordination among US industry, government and academia to advance photonics-driven fields, and to drive US funding and investment in areas of photonics critical to maintaining US competitiveness and national security. As a collaborator, Champion ONE has the opportunity to participate in NPI activities and events to increase support for the US photonics community, including advocacy meetings with Washington policymakers and officials, public forums, media engagement and other outreach activities.
“We welcome Champion ONE to the NPI and appreciate their support for the future of the US optics and photonics community,” said NPI Steering Committee Chairman Alan Willner. “As part of the NPI, Champion ONE joins a broad coalition of members from across industry, academia and government united to identify and advance areas of photonics critical to saving lives, improving the economy, creating jobs and sparking innovation for future generations. We look forward to working alongside Champion ONE.”
