WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LCG, a fast-growing, leading provider of innovative grants management and technology solutions to federal agencies in the areas of health and science, announced today that it has been awarded a new contract to provide continuing IT support to the National Institutes of Health’s Office of Strategic Coordination, which oversees the NIH Common Fund. The NIH Common Fund supports research in areas of emerging scientific opportunities, rising public health challenges and knowledge gaps that deserve special emphasis and would benefit from strategic coordination and planning across the NIH Institutes and Centers.
“LCG has delivered NIH-specific solutions for more than 16 years, so we understand NIH’s culture, IT operating environment and governance structure,” said Matthew Briddell, vice president of LCG. “With our long-standing history and successful relationship, we offer a unique team that has extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with our customer’s current technical environment and business processes.”
LCG has supported the Common Fund since 2009, and under the terms of this new one-year contract, which began Sept. 29 and has two one-year option periods, the company will continue to provide OSC with IT support services. Specifically, the company will manage and evolve the two main systems of the Common Fund: the SharePoint Common Fund site and the Strategic Initiatives Database. The company has deployed many innovative solutions in the past and will integrate additional next-generation technology to address the unique collaboration and content management requirements of the Common Fund.
OSC works with staff and leadership across the NIH to identify and promote trans-NIH programs that capitalize on emerging opportunities to catalyze the rate of progress across multiple biomedical fields. OSC is one of eight offices that are part of the Division of Program Coordination, Planning and Strategic Initiatives within the Office of the NIH Director.
