Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management Named a Best B-School by The Princeton Review

LOS ANGELES--()--The Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management has been named an outstanding business school by The Princeton Review in its 2016 edition of The Best 295 Business Schools.

“We recommend the Graziadio School as one of the best to earn an MBA. We chose the 295 schools in this book based on our high regard for their academics and our assessment of institutional data we collect from the schools,” said Robert Franek, senior vice president-publisher at The Princeton Review. “We also solicited and greatly respect the opinions of 22,000 students attending these schools who reported on their experiences at their schools on our 80-question student survey for the book.”

The Princeton Review surveyed the 22,000 students at the 295 business schools about their respective school's academics, student body, and campus life, as well as about themselves and their career plans. The student surveys used in the 2016 edition of The Best 295 Business Schools were completed online and conducted in the 2014-2015, 2013-2014, and 2012-2013 academic years.

“As the economy gains steam, professionals who have earned an MBA are well positioned to quickly climb the career ladder,” said David M. Smith, dean of the Graziadio School of Business and Management. “Given our rigorous academics, geographic position in Southern California, deep roots of more than 36,000 alumni, and focus on real-world application, earning an MBA from the Graziadio School is a worthy life credential.”

The book's two-page school profiles feature sections on academics, student life, admissions information, and graduates’ employment data. The Graziadio School of Business and Management’s profile reports that it is “armed with a ‘gorgeous campus,’ ‘great alumni network,’ and ‘relaxed atmosphere’ … [where] it’s obvious why MBA candidates are attracted to Pepperdine.” In student comments, Graziadio School students praised the “small class sizes,” which guarantees a great deal of “personal attention from professors.”

In addition to being ranked a Best Business School by The Princeton Review, the Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management was also ranked in the following categories.

Ranked No. 3 for Greatest Opportunity for Women

The Greatest Opportunity for Women ranking is based on school-reported data and student surveys, such as students who are female and the percentage of faculty who are female. It also reflects answers to survey questions such as assessment of resources for female students, whether the school offers course work for women entrepreneurs, and whether case study materials for classes proportionately reflect women in business. Demonstrating its commitment to encouraging opportunity for women, Pepperdine established the Center for Women in Leadership earlier this year. The center aims to expand the leadership capacity of women students, staff, and faculty through research, dialogue, skills development, and mentoring opportunities.

Ranked No. 8 for Best Green MBA

This Best Green MBA ranking is based on students' assessments of how well their school is preparing them in environmental, sustainability, and social responsibility issues, and for a career in a green job market. At the Graziadio School, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and ethics are woven into the curriculum. In addition, the Graziadio School also offers a Socially, Environmentally, and Ethically Responsible (SEER) Business Strategy certification linked to the MBA degree.
