ANN MOND JOHNSON JOINS ZEST HEALTH AS CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Experienced Health Technology Executive to Drive Strategy and Accelerate Growth

Zest Health, a consumer-focused, mobile health company that enables more informed and cost-effective healthcare decisions, has named Ann Mond Johnson as Chief Executive Officer.

With more than 20 years of experience, Mond Johnson is a nationally recognized leader in healthcare consumerism and has built her career managing innovative healthcare technology companies. Previously, she served as Chairman, Board of Managers and Advisor for ConnectedHealth, LLC, which provides private health insurance exchanges. She was instrumental in developing the company’s strategy and guiding business development and fundraising. Prior, Mond Johnson served as Senior Vice President at WebMD after selling Subimo to the healthcare information giant in 2006. Mond Johnson was CEO and co-founder of Subimo, which provided healthcare decision support applications to large employers, health plans and financial institutions. She also served as senior vice president at Sachs Group (now part of Truven Health), and currently advises several early stage companies including Conversa Health and is on the board of Ludi, Inc.

“Zest Health’s technology is transforming the way people use their healthcare,” said Mond Johnson. “By providing access to information and resources to help them make better, more cost-effective healthcare decisions, we are bringing healthcare closer to people and helping lower costs, even as healthcare costs continue to rise. This is a transformational achievement in the increasingly complex and cost-prohibitive healthcare industry.”

Zest’s Smart ConciergeSM is an integrated, “human-centric” mobile application that reimagines the way people navigate healthcare’s broad array of choices. It provides personalized information by bringing together a person’s health insurance benefits, doctors, hospitals, and employer. The application, alongside the personalized support of a concierge team member, provides the opportunity for people to access their health benefits, cost options and personal preferences; schedule appointments; connect with telemedicine options; track health care spending; and resolve claims and billings.

“We are excited to have Ann lead our team, given her track record of building and growing health technology companies that serve consumers while solving business problems for employers and health insurance companies,” said Lee Shapiro, Chairman of the Board of Zest Health. “Zest Health will reshape how many of us view, understand and ultimately purchase our healthcare services. With Ann’s leadership we will most certainly reach this goal.”

Mond Johnson's appointment comes on the heels of Zest Health's raising of more than $6 million from a well-respected group of healthcare and consumer technology investors, including 7Wire Ventures, Lightbank, Zaffre Investments, Martin Ventures, Dallas Venture Partners and LSAN/Azimuth Ventures. To date, Zest Health has compiled an impressive customer roster that includes Chicago-based Presence Health, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island and a number of self-funded employers.
