SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Department of Technology Services announced the results of the Center for Digital Government’s 2015 Best of the Web (BOW) and Digital Government Achievement Awards (DGAA). The Center for Digital Government recognized Utah.Gov at its award ceremony in New Orleans as the second place award winner of Best of the Web. The award recognizes state websites for outstanding innovation, functionality, productivity and performance.
“We’re glad to be recognized again by Best of the Web. This is the premier competition and recognizes the very best state websites nationally,” said David Fletcher, Utah Department of Technology Services Chief Technology Officer. “We’ve been in the top three for ten years now. Ultimately, we hope that this translates into better service for the people of Utah.”
In addition to a second place win for Utah.gov, the Center for Digital Government awarded Utah two achievement awards for Utah’s public notice site and the Utah Economic Development Map.
The DGAA recognized Utah.gov’s Public Notice Social Media Integration, which helps administrators publicize information through social media, in the Government-to-Government category. The Government-to-Business category of the awards recognized the Economic Development Map, which helps people locate businesses where broadband is available. DGAA recognizes outstanding government online applications.
“These winners are recognized for responsive and mobile-first design, open government, open data, improved transparency and integration with social media,” said Todd Sander, executive director of the Center for Digital Government. “Congratulations to the awardees for their impressive work to make government more accessible and responsive to citizens.”
