SUWANEE, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Meggitt Training Systems, an industry-leading, turnkey provider of design, development, equipment and installation of military live-fire training ranges, will exhibit at the 2015 Levels of Fidelity annual conference in Walenstadt, Switzerland. From Oct. 19-21, 2015, Meggitt representatives will discuss the products and technologies that are bringing more and more international service outfits to choose Meggitt as a strategic partner.
“The best service organizations from countries all around the world are increasingly turning to Meggitt for their live-fire and simulation training needs,” said Stuart Westlake-Toms, European regional director, Meggitt Training Systems. “The US Army, US Marine Corp, UK MoD, Italian Army and many other groups around the globe have all formalized partnerships with Meggitt during the past couple of years alone.”
In addition to its live-fire capabilities, Meggitt is the world leader in virtual weapons training for military, defense and security forces. During the past 18 months, Meggitt has secured contracts with the US Army, US Marine Corps and the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), while also maintaining military and law enforcement partnerships throughout Europe, including Italy, Norway and Sweden.
In early August, Meggitt announced several contracts with the UK Ministry of Defence to upgrade British Army Dismounted Close Combat Trainers (DCCT)—small arms trainers. The three contracts, awarded in June and July 2015, upgrade existing trainers with the FATS M100 system architecture, provide DCCT portable configurations and add Future Integrated Soldier Technology (FIST) Phase 4 Fire Control System simulation training onto the DCCT platform as a complement to live-fire FIST equipment.
In June 2014, Meggitt Training Systems was awarded an Engagement Skills Trainer II (EST II) five-year IDIQ contract by the US Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation and Training. The contract covers more than 1,000 new and upgraded systems and simulated weapons for US Army facilities worldwide.
Within the past year, Meggitt also won a five-year contract from the US Marine Corps Systems Command Program Manager for Training Systems to develop and deliver the Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainers (ISMT) system. The ISMT contract covers installation and support of more than 670 systems at US Marine Corps facilities both domestically and worldwide.
With more than 75,000 live-fire target systems successfully fielded on 122 military bases around the world, Meggitt’s military live fire target systems are field-proven to be reliable and adaptable to all climates and environmental conditions.
