Experienced Mobile Product Leader Joins LifeLock

Former Yahoo! Product Leader Brings Award-Winning Expertise in Mobile Sector to LifeLock

TEMPE, Ariz.--()--LifeLock, Inc. (NYSE: LOCK), a leading provider of proactive identity theft protection services, announced that Marco Wirasinghe has joined the company as vice president of consumer applications. Previously, Wirasinghe served at Yahoo!, where he led product management in mobile, including the popular Yahoo! Weather app, which won a 2013 Apple Design Award. He also led product development for Yahoo! Entertainment and Lifestyle, a more than $100 million global revenue division, and developed new capabilities such as Yahoo’s Splash Ad format.

As vice president of consumer applications, Wirasinghe will lead the company’s mobile division, focusing on new and existing products in the safety, security and convenience space. He joins other recent additions to LifeLock’s leadership team, including Schwark Satyavolu, executive vice president of product and technology; Ty Shay, chief marketing officer; and Neil Daswani, Chief Information Security Officer.

Prior to Yahoo!, Wirasinghe was founder and chief executive officer of Name Change Express, an online service that simplified the name change process for newlywed brides. He also consulted with Booz & Company and managed the mobile software roadmap at Intel. Wirasinghe received a master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Houston.

A recent study by Javelin Strategy & Research found that fraudsters stole $16 billion from 12.7 million U.S. consumers last year. With a new identity fraud victim every two seconds, identity theft is a problem for many consumers.
