BERKELEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Bay Area’s on-demand ice cream truck is cruising through town, as SpoonRocket delivers free IT’S-IT ice cream this week to celebrate its East Bay and San Francisco customers.
From August 17-21, SpoonRocket, the on-demand meal delivery service revolutionizing fast food, will treat customers to a free IT’S-IT ice cream sandwich with any SpoonRocket order placed, delivered within 15 minutes to their curb. SpoonRocket will continue treating customers over the weekend, with free cheesecake on Saturday and chocolate chip cookies on Sunday with every meal order.
The dessert giveaway thanks customers for naming SpoonRocket “Best Delivery Service” in two reader polls this year. SpoonRocket received top honors for delivery from the East Bay Express “Best of the East Bay” and San Francisco Magazine’s “Best Places to Eat in SF” issues.
“Our customers are simply the best, and we’re so honored they named SpoonRocket as their top delivery service in both San Francisco and the East Bay,” said Steven Hsiao, chief executive officer, SpoonRocket. “They deserve a huge thanks and what better way to do it this summer than by delivering a Bay Area favorite ice cream with every order!”
SpoonRocket offers breakfast, lunch and dinner ranging from $5.95 to $9.95, including a $2.50 flat delivery fee for the East Bay and $2.75 for San Francisco. Meals can be ordered 7 days a week through SpoonRocket’s website or through apps for iOS and Android devices.
The idea for SpoonRocket started with Steven Hsiao and Anson Tsui while at UC Berkeley. They shared a mission to revolutionize fast food by delivering affordable, gourmet meals fast. The success of SpoonRocket on the Cal campus led to rapid expansion throughout the Bay Area and $11 million in venture capital funding. Seattle is the first new service region outside of the Bay Area, with plans to expand to other markets later this year.
