NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Newport Health Solutions, LLC and the North Shore-LIJ Health System www.northshorelij.com announced today that they have signed a letter of intent to further develop and commercialize Newport Health’s breakthrough population and network management platform, called “Health Connect.” Designed to better connect physicians and hospitals in the New York region, Health Connect has already been implemented at Lenox Hill Hospital www.northshorelij.com/find-care/locations/lenox-hill-hospital and its affiliated facilities throughout New York City after a successful year-long pilot.
As part of this joint venture, Newport Health www.newporthealth.net.and North Shore-LIJ will establish a new company that will further develop Health Connect and implement the platform at other hospitals within the North Shore-LIJ network, as well as third-party hospitals, healthcare facilities and medical groups in the region and nationally.
Health Connect is a powerful and innovative approach to population health that allows for continuity of care, better coordination among healthcare providers and increased patient touch points. Through Health Connect, administrators, doctors and clinical staff can better track and manage the growth of their network while increasing utilization and strengthening their strategic positions in the marketplace.
The letter of intent is subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements.
