ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aveshka, Inc., a tech services firm in Arlington, Va. announces a U.S. District Court entered final judgment against Global Record Systems, LLC, a healthcare information technology firm with offices in Rockville, Md. for more than $2.6 million in connection with an unpaid loan made by Aveshka, Inc., as well as unpaid services rendered (Case No. 1:14cv1006, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division.) With interest, the judgment amount exceeds $2.9 million. On July 20, 2015, the Court also granted Aveshka judgment for an additional $50,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs. (Same case, No. 1:14cv1006)
“Unfortunately, despite court-ordered judgment and our best faith and repeated efforts to secure payment, we have not been paid what is rightly owed to us,” said Girish K. Jindia, President and CEO of Aveshka, adding,“Our unhappy experience, perhaps, should be a lesson to others.”
Aveshka filed a lawsuit in federal court in Maryland (Case No. 8:15cv01280, U.S. District Court, District of Maryland, Southern Division) alleging, amongst other things, that Global Record Systems and its CEO Sandra S. Garrett fraudulently transferred company assets to related entity MediMergent, LLC to place them out of Aveshka’s reach.
Pursuant to another filing by Aveshka, (Case No. 1:15mc00211, U.S. District Court, District of Maryland.) U.S. Marshals levied property at Global Record Systems offices in Rockville, Md. for possible seizure and sale. Also, pursuant to Aveshka’s federal court case in Virginia cited above (No. 1:14cv1006), Aveshka foreclosed on Global Record Systems’ hardware and software in North Carolina, and that property was sold at public auction.
Jindia added, “Others, including a major U.S. bank, also have obtained court-ordered judgments against Sandra Garrett and entities in which she has an interest, seeking repayment for moneys loaned.
