CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--U.S. electronics, appliances and home furnishings dealers are optimistic about 2015, according to the results of a survey released today by Capital Solutions for the Home Product Industry (CSHPI), a leading provider of inventory financing to the industry. Key survey findings:
- Fifty-seven percent of survey respondents are expecting sales growth ranging from 4 percent to 10 percent, while 18 percent of respondents are expecting growth of 11 percent or more this year.
- When asked which trend will have the greatest impact on their sales this year, 44 percent of respondents said consumer demand.
- The second- and third-most popular trends are expected to be product affordability, chosen by 17 percent, and product availability, chosen by 14 percent.
“Like the customers we serve, we’re also optimistic about the year ahead,” said Judith Toland, commercial leader for electronics and appliances at CSHPI. “With the gradually improving economy, the onset of connected homes and the emergence of home furnishings as an alternative product category to support margins, our independent dealers are poised for growth in 2015.”
CSHPI conducted the survey at three industry events in the first quarter of this year. In total, 263 electronics, appliances and home furnishings dealers responded to the survey.
CSHPI has supported the electronics, appliances and home furnishings industry with flexible inventory financing products for more than 60 years, recently updating its branding, logo and website – which now includes a learning center for retailers – to reflect its continued support for the industry. Inventory financing, also known as floorplan financing, allows dealers to stock, market and sell a wide variety of products from industry manufacturers.
