HomeServe USA Launches National Television Ad Campaign

NORWALK, Conn.--()--HomeServe USA (HomeServe), a leading provider of home emergency repair service plans, today announced the launch of its first television advertising campaign to promote its home repair plans and raise awareness about homeowner responsibilities.

Titled “Get a Plan, Stan”, the campaign kicked off on April 20, 2015, with a tongue-in-cheek television commercial featuring a homeowner named Stan who isn’t protected by a home repair plan, and Stan’s neighbor who is. Whenever Stan is in need of a repair, he hires an unscrupulous contractor who puts a major dent in Stan’s wallet. Stan’s neighbor, on the other hand, always has a trusted service company he can turn to with qualified technicians to get the job done right. By the end of the commercial, Stan finally understands.

Against a backdrop of various home disasters in frozen motion, a second television spot informs homeowners about home repairs not typically covered by their basic homeowners insurance and how they can avoid unexpected repair expenses.

“Like Stan, many homeowners don’t realize that there is a better way to pay for home repairs,” said Tom Rusin, CEO of HomeServe USA. “One of our primary goals with this ad campaign is to close the knowledge gap for homeowners, many of whom are unfamiliar with this type of financial protection or are under the misunderstanding that their basic homeowners insurance covers repairs. We want homeowners to know they can make unexpected repairs easier to manage, more affordable and less of a headache with a HomeServe repair service plan.”

Produced and filmed in Norwalk and Old Greenwich by Palace Production Center, the two commercials have begun airing in New York, Boston, Atlanta, and Milwaukee. It is anticipated that the commercials will expand to additional cities later this year.

Serving customers in North America since 2003, HomeServe provides emergency repair plans covering a variety of household systems to over 2 million customers throughout the U.S. and in parts of Canada. HomeServe plan holders have access to a Repair Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to bring local, licensed, and insured contractors right to their home for repairs. The plans start at $5.49 a month.
