AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SailPoint today announced that Joe Gottlieb has joined the company as senior vice president of corporate development. In this role, Gottlieb will own SailPoint’s strategic technology partnerships and will evaluate potential acquisitions and new market opportunities based on the company’s strategic objectives. He joins SailPoint after spending two decades in a variety of executive roles at security and enterprise technology companies in Silicon Valley.
"Joe’s valuable combination of technical product understanding and sound business judgment is vital to SailPoint's ongoing success, especially as we continue the expansion of our footprint in the SaaS market," said Kevin Cunningham, president and cofounder of SailPoint. "We are excited to have Joe join our team. His deep knowledge of the security space and proven track record for corporate growth will be beneficial as SailPoint continues to expand through strategic alliances and acquisitions. His industry knowledge and foresight will be invaluable to SailPoint’s rapid growth."
Gottlieb brings a long history of security and broad information technology experience to SailPoint working with companies such as Aerospike, Sensage (acquired by KEYW) and McAfee. Most recently, he was the CEO of Aerospike, Inc. where he led the company through its Series C funding round of $20 million. During his tenure at Sensage, Gottlieb first acted as the vice president of marketing and business development, guiding OEM relationships with HP and Cerner, as well as technology alliances with SAP, Cisco, EMC and McAfee. Based on his success in that role, he was promoted to CEO and president and, ultimately, led the company to be acquired by KEYW due to the company’s growth and differentiation in the SIEM market.
Prior to his time at Sensage, Gottlieb was vice president of corporate strategy and technology alliances at McAfee, where he created the company’s technology partner program, the Security Innovation Alliance. He previously held executive positions at Nokia, the META Group and Ernst & Young.
"It is clear that the identity and access management space is one of the hottest markets in enterprise technology right now and I am honored to join the market leader,” said Gottlieb. “There are some incredibly compelling reasons for complementary technology companies to partner with SailPoint, as well as interesting technologies for SailPoint to potentially acquire. I’m looking forward to helping SailPoint capitalize on its corporate momentum and drive the IAM market forward.”
