ARC Opens Registration for Customer- Acclaimed TravelConnect Conference

Erik Wahl, John Sileo and Holly Hegeman Confirmed As Conference Speakers

ARC TravelConnect 2015

ARLINGTON, Va.--()--Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) has announced that registration is now open for the company’s second annual TravelConnect conference. The conference will take place in Washington, D.C., October 22–23 at the Grand Hyatt Washington hotel. TravelConnect is aimed at travel professionals interested in the industry’s latest trends, advancements and issues surrounding airline ticketing, travel agency ticket processing and the use of data in making smarter business decisions. Last year’s inaugural conference was hailed by its attendees as a success, pointing specifically to the conference’s education, networking and collaboration opportunities.

Confirmed keynote speakers this year include John Sileo, Holly Hegeman and Erik Wahl. Sileo returns by popular demand with The Cyber Blacklist, his second installment on cyber security and countermeasures for the travel industry. Hegeman, an expert on airline issues and publisher and editor of PlaneBusiness Banter, will enlighten attendees on airline industry trends, while Wahl, an entrepreneur and graffiti artist, entertains them with “UNthink,” an artistic presentation about linking creativity with innovation and profitability.

Sessions at this year’s conference will focus on the latest developments in virtual payments as well as town hall sessions that will provide travel agent and airline customers the opportunity to speak about issues directly affecting them. Other noteworthy sessions include news and updates on airline industry trends in distribution—including IATA’s New Distribution Capabilities (NDC) and its implications, Electronic Miscellaneous Documents (EMDs) and the future of channel ancillary sales, debit memo standardization and the ultimate goal of eliminating memos, and emerging fraud schemes affecting all parts of the travel industry.

“We are delighted by the success of last year’s TravelConnect, with more than 90 percent of attendees telling us they plan to attend the conference again this year,” stated Lauri Reishus, ARC’s vice president and chief operating officer. “Not only did attendees feel they came away more educated about a number of timely topics, but they also noted the value of interacting with others in the industry they normally would not be exposed to. ARC is pleased to again facilitate these types of interactions.”

Participants that register before June 30 will receive a discounted, early bird rate. More detailed information on TravelConnect, including registration, is available at www.arctravelconnect.com. Members of the media are also invited to attend.
