USMD Adds New Internal Medicine, Sports Medicine Physician to Support the Growing Healthcare Needs of Patients in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex

Dr. David Tietze will practice at USMD’s South Arlington Clinic

IRVING, Texas--()--USMD Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: USMD), a physician-led integrated healthcare system, announced today that David Tietze, M.D., has joined USMD Affiliated Services. Dr. Tietze specializes in internal medicine and sports medicine and has been added to USMD’s expanding provider base to support the growing healthcare needs of patients in the Arlington community.

Dr. Tietze has joined USMD’s growing group of internal medicine physicians, bringing the total number of USMD internists to 58. Dr. Tietze, who also specializes in and completed a fellowship in sports medicine, brings the total number of sports medicine physicians at USMD to five. As a physician who specializes in and is certified in internal medicine and sports medicine, Dr. Tietze is able to treat patients for acute and chronic conditions and help patients with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sports- and exercise-related injuries.

In addition, Dr. Tietze accepts Medicare, which brings the total number of USMD physicians serving seniors and accepting new Medicare patients to more than 100. Nationally, 10,000 baby boomers a day reach the age of 65. By 2030, it is anticipated that 18 percent of the nation will be 65 or older. USMD is committed to providing quality healthcare to this age group and is positioning itself to better care for senior patients.

Dr. David Tietze will practice at USMD’s Arlington South Internal Medicine and Pediatric Clinic, located in the medical office building connected to USMD Hospital at Arlington. Dr. Tietze completed his fellowship in primary care sports medicine at The Ohio State University Medical Center, his residency in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center and his medical degree at The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. After completion of medical training, Dr. Tietze worked as the team physician for Dallas Baptist University and Northwood University. He also spent time as an attending physician at Baylor Specialty Hospital.
