New business bookings and a bold rebranding initiative generated 70 percent year-over-year revenue growth, allowing the company to nearly triple its work force in 2014.
Business and Talent Growth
In August, Rook Security earned a coveted spot on the renowned Inc. 500 list after achieving 942.3 percent revenue growth between 2010 and 2013. In addition to achieving the No. 500 spot on the overall Inc. 500 list, making it the No. 9 fastest-growing privately held security company in the United States, Rook Security was also recognized by TechPoint as the fastest-growing technology company in Indiana.
Business growth over the course of 2014 attracted top talent across disciplines including security, sales and marketing. By the end of the calendar year, Rook Security had grown from a company of 20 to a workforce of 53.
Rook Security made significant enhancements to its advisory services, strengthening its regulatory auditing consultancy by adding PCI, HIPAA and financial regulatory expertise. Shortly thereafter, Rook Security successfully completed the PCI Security Standards Council Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) Company testing process, enabling the company to perform Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) assessments.
New Identity, New Offices
Founded as Rook Consulting in 2008, the company was renamed Rook Security in 2014 to accurately reflect its full range of service offerings, including managed security and solution integration.
In May, Rook Security quadrupled its existing office space in downtown Indianapolis. The state-of-the-art headquarters features a host of physical and digital security measures to ensure 24/7 uptime in the Security Operations Center, which monitors global cyberthreats for Rook Security’s international client roster. In November, a second office was opened in Carmel, Indiana, as a workspace for the company’s growing sales and marketing team.
