Author Doug Lemov discusses why he decided to write Teach Like a Champion 2.0 and the differences between 2.0 and the first edition of the book

INDIANAPOLIS--()--Author Doug Lemov is back with revised and updated techniques for teachers in his new book Teach Like a Champion 2.0: 62 Techniques that Put Students on the Path to College (Jossey-Bass, a Wiley brand; January 2015), whose first edition helped nearly one million teachers become classroom champions.

Teach Like a Champion 2.0 is a complete update to the international bestseller and a must-have for new and experienced teachers alike. This edition includes a selection of never before seen techniques inspired by top teachers around the world, 75 new video clips of real teachers modeling the techniques in the classroom and updated content reflecting the latest best practices from outstanding educators. It covers essential topics such as building trust, lesson structures, assessing student understanding and exploring the importance of writing as an indicator of academic success.

Ever since the first version of the book came out, I have continued to observe how great teachers not only use the techniques that I described in the original Teach Like a Champion, but have adapted and improved on them; this version of the book is as much sequel as it is revision,” Lemov said. “2.0 honors the many teachers who have showed me how to make the techniques even more effective. This new version also adds techniques in critical areas like improving student writing and helps teachers to more effectively use the techniques by highlighting the most important ideas for readers to prioritize.”

Teach Like a Champion 2.0 will put students on a path for college and career readiness by supporting teachers with ideas for everything from classroom management to inspiring student engagement and is now available for purchase online and at retailers nationwide in both print and all e-book formats.
