Three of Pioneer’s second generation Networked Entertainment eXperience (NEX) in-dash multimedia receivers, the AVIC-8100NEX, AVIC-7100NEX and AVH-4100NEX, will feature Android Auto integration, allowing consumers to quickly connect their compatible smartphones and extend the Android platform in a way that's purpose-built for the car. Designed with safety in mind, Android Auto utilizes a simple and intuitive interface and powerful new voice actions for minimized distraction, so users can stay focused on the road.

Pioneer’s Android Auto compatible units feature high-resolution 7-inch touchscreen displays (capacitive on the AVIC-8100NEX and clear resistive on the AVIC-7100NEX and AVH-4100NEX), an included external microphone for high quality hands free calling and voice control, and a wired remote input used for optional integration with factory installed steering wheel audio controls.
