Pulse Secure Simplifies Secure Device Onboarding and Compliance for BYOD

New Capabilities of Connect Secure and Policy Secure Will Enhance End-User Experience and Expand Compliance Options

SAN JOSE, Calif.--()--Pulse Secure, a leading provider of access and mobile security solutions to the enterprise and service providers, today released new functionality for its Connect Secure and Policy Secure solutions that simplify the deployment of secure network access services and address key challenges of BYOD. The new solutions offer automated onboarding of PCs and mobile devices, streamlined remote connectivity and expanded compliance enforcement.

According to leading industry analyst firms, BYOD is rapidly gaining momentum within enterprises, yet the majority of such security programs fall short of meeting the actual needs of employee users. By automating the onboard process of devices, the Pulse Secure solution now provides an easier way for workers to "opt in" to a secure network program and enables IT to:

  • Onboard any new device from anywhere. Users, regardless if they are remote or local, can self-provision their device by simply opening a web browser and typing in a well-known website URL, such as byod.yourcompany.com.
  • Simplify the onboarding process for users. Pulse Secure offers enterprises a single, user-friendly way to configure Windows, Mac, iOS and Android devices for VPN, WiFi and certificates and can redirect remote users to an existing EMM platform for the specialized processing of their smartphones and tablets.
  • Unify compliance enforcement. The Pulse Secure solution continually checks the health of connected devices, including security settings such as laptop encryption, and provides a single compliance enforcement point for laptops, smartphones and tablets.

The automated onboarding feature is now available on Connect Secure and Policy Secure. More importantly, BYOD workers using the Pulse Workspace for smartphones and tablets enjoy the same secure remote access features from Connect Secure afforded to corporate-owned devices using the Pulse Client. Now, mobile professionals can streamline their remote access connectivity with Captive Portal Detection and Smart Connection Manager at cafes or airports with the latest release of Pulse Client. Access to enterprise services from collaboration apps to proprietary business apps has never been simpler.

“Mobile workers today demand constant connectivity with easy access to work applications for collaboration, business intelligence and analytics,” said Jeff Green, senior vice president of product development at Pulse Secure. “With automated onboarding, Pulse Secure is helping to simplify the deployment of BYOD. Enterprises can let users opt into a BYOD environment where secure access happens with just a touch of an icon.”

Pulse Secure and Pulse Connect are available now as a free upgrade for existing customers. For more information on Connect Secure 8.1, Pulse Client 5.1, and Policy Secure 5.1, visit: http://pulsesecure.net/products/.
