Wave’s CondoInternet Announces Gigabit Fiber-to-the-Home Service in Seattle’s Eastlake Neighborhood; New Service Launching in December

KIRKLAND, Wash.--()--Wave, a gigabit fiber and broadband services company, today announced that its CondoInternet subsidiary is launching fiber-to-the-home service in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood. Construction is currently underway, with service availability beginning in December. Wave’s CondoInternet team will offer both symmetrical gigabit and 100 Mbps internet speed options with the new service.

Since acquiring CondoInternet in September 2013, Wave has invested heavily in the company’s growth by building out its gigabit fiber network, hiring additional staff and taking other measures to improve and expand its infrastructure. CondoInternet has provided gigabit internet service in Seattle since 2008, with service now available to more than 20,000 area homes.

“Our goal is to provide the fastest and most reliable internet connection. We are focused on expanding our fiber footprint and gigabit service availability to meet the growing demand for faster connectivity by consumers. The Eastlake build represents another step in the expansion of our next-generation fiber network,” said Harold Zeitz, Wave’s President and COO.

Service will begin at the south end of the Eastlake neighborhood at E. Galer and progress northward as quickly as construction and city permitting will allow. Residents can pre-order connectivity on CondoInternet’s website (http://www.condointernet.net/fiber) and installations will be scheduled as soon as service goes live next month. CondoInternet’s straight-forward pricing model features 100 Mbps internet access for a monthly flat fee of $60 and gigabit service for $80 a month.

“Being able to offer this super high-speed data connection is a wonderful added value for our residents,” said Brenda Warner, Senior Property Manager at Hue, a Seattle apartment building. “With more entertainment being made available over the internet, having access to gigabit speeds is becoming a must-have.”

Real-time progress updates on the fiber build-out, as well as more information about service availability will be available on the CondoInternet website beginning November 18.

“We chose to expand in Eastlake because it includes a diverse set of housing types,” said John van Oppen, SVP for CondoInternet and Wave. “Eastlake has everything: apartments, condos, single-family homes, houseboats, apodments— you name it. Our platform is designed to support gig delivery regardless of the type of structure, so we are a perfect fit for Eastlake.”

Residents of other Seattle neighborhoods, and the greater Puget Sound region, can register their interest in gigabit internet service on the CondoInternet website. Adds van Oppen, “There are three things we are looking for as we expand our fiber network: cities that are easy and economical to work with; locations near our existing infrastructure; and customer demand for our service.”
