NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Worlds will collide in the Hammerstein Ballroom on October 30th when celebrities from music, entertainment and fashion join humanitarian leaders to celebrate the 11th annual Keep a Child Alive (KCA) Black Ball. This star-studded event has raised over $22.6 million for children and families affected by HIV in Africa and India, and will support the on-going work of Keep a Child Alive. Sherry-Lehmann, internationally acclaimed wine and spirits retailer, is delighted to announce it will be the official wine and spirits sponsor of the star-studded event for the fifth consecutive year.
“Sherry-Lehmann is proud to be a part of KCA’s Black Ball,” said Chris Adams, CEO of Sherry-Lehmann. “As we celebrate five years of partnership with KCA, we are grateful to have helped make a difference in the lives of children and their families struggling with HIV.”
The Black Ball will include a cocktail hour, dinner, live auction, musical performances and presentation of the KCA Humanitarian Award to Givenchy Artistic Director, Riccardo Tisci. Sherry-Lehmann, celebrating its 80 years of operation and five-year partnership with the Black Ball, will pour premier wine and spirits including Rémy Martin XO Cognac, specialty Cointreau cocktails, Piper Heidsieck Champagne, Antinori, Terrazas De Los Andes, Poggio il Castellare, Glenmorangie, Bull Dog Gin and Casa Dragones Tequila. Champagne Charles Heidsieck will be poured for the evening’s champagne toast.
In addition to providing the evening’s wine and spirits, Sherry-Lehmann is partnering with LOUIS XIII Cognac on a unique auction item, The LOUIS XIII Black Pearl Anniversary Edition Experience. Valued at $50,000, this once-in-a-lifetime experience will give bidders the chance to own a decanter of the extraordinarily rare cognac. The winner will also enjoy an intimate dinner for 20 guests featuring wines expertly paired by Shyda Gilmer, COO of Sherry-Lehmann, and a presentation and tasting of LOUIS XIII by the LOUIS XIII Cellar Master, Baptiste Loiseau and co-hosted by Mr. Gilmer. The LOUIS XIII Black Pearl Anniversary Edition is taken from a single tierçon from the family’s private cellars, with only 775 custom Baccarat decanters released in November and found at Sherry-Lehmann, in honor of the brand’s 140th anniversary.
Last year’s auction item from Sherry-Lehmann helped raise $200,000 for KCA, and included a private dinner at Le-Bilboquet paired with top wines and champagnes hand selected by Sherry-Lehmann experts and accompanied by a private serenade from Alicia Keys.
