IOD Announces Inofile Partnership to Facilitate Direct Messaging across Patients and Care Teams, Regardless of Network

MU2-certified PRISM Connect enables fast and secure exchange of healthcare information

GREEN BAY, Wis.--()--IOD Incorporated, the leader in full-suite health information management (HIM) solutions for hospitals, healthcare systems and clinics, today launched PRISM Connect, a HIPAA-compliant tool for effectively exchanging protected healthcare information via secure, direct messaging. The 2014 edition ONC-ACB certified technology allows the sharing of medical records from provider-to-patient, as well as provider-to-provider settings, regardless of varying provider networks.

Through its integration with Inofile’s Kno2™ clinical document exchange platform, PRISM Connect Provider allows physicians to directly communicate with the provider community and complex care teams to request medical records for their patient population. With IOD’s PRISM release of information platform, referring physicians can share and receive patient data directly with any hospital or clinic, increasing the speed, accuracy and efficiency of health information exchange. Likewise, through PRISM Connect, patients are able to view, download and transmit their protected health information sent from their provider. Patients are also able to designate an authorized user, such as a caregiver, if needed, to further coordinate their care plans.

Through the use of IOD’s direct messaging capabilities, the solution can also aid providers in meeting the requirements of stage two of meaningful use. PRISM Connect Patients has been tested and certified under the Drummond Group’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) Program, meeting the requirements for Modular EHR (inpatient and ambulatory) view, download and transmit.

“Inofile and IOD share a common vision of leveraging direct messaging as a platform to solve real business problems in healthcare, beyond simply meeting the minimum necessary meaningful use standards of today,” said George Abatjoglou, CEO of IOD. “Through our partnership with Inofile, our solution footprint will increase significantly, bringing even greater value to our provider clients by improving the efficiency and security of care team collaboration, which includes the patient, increasing quality and efficiency throughout the industry.”

This EHR Module is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
