Lippincott Acquires Bonfire Communications to Expand Organizational Engagement Expertise

Combined firms to deliver to clients a unique offering focused on aligning leadership, inspiring employees, and activating brands from the inside out

NEW YORK--()--Lippincott, a leading global branding firm, announced today it has acquired Bonfire Communications, the premier agency in employee engagement and internal communications. The acquisition of Bonfire represents the first in Lippincott’s 70-year history and will enhance its ability to comprehensively address all aspects of brand building from strategy to expression through employee behavior and customer experience. The new combined entity will help serve a growing need among CMOs and business leaders, who seek new ways to inspire their employees, attract the best talent and deliver unparalleled customer experiences.

“Building brands today requires a new approach – one that aligns the internal purpose that employees believe with the external promise that is made to customers,” said Rick Wise, CEO, Lippincott. “Bonfire’s proven methodologies, impressive track record and deep understanding of organizational and behavioral theory, will help bolster our Organizational Engagement practice and enhance our overall ability to deliver lasting and meaningful results for our clients.”

“Bonfire and Lippincott share a vision of creating a new kind of agency that builds great brands and exceptional companies that attract and retain the best people,” said Gordon Rudow, CEO of Bonfire. “We’re excited to put leadership and employee engagement front and center of the brand conversation, and to help our clients achieve authentic, sustainable differentiation.”

Founded in San Francisco in 2000 by Gordon Rudow, Bonfire Communications has been a trusted advisor to companies such as Genentech, GE, Salesforce.com, and Banana Republic. As part of the acquisition, all Bonfire employees will now be part of the Lippincott team and Rudow will serve as Senior Partner, Director of Organizational Engagement, reporting into CEO Rick Wise. Practice capabilities include leadership vision and alignment, leadership development, employee communications, talent development and participation programs. The addition of Bonfire also signals Lippincott’s growing impact on the west coast and an expanded San Francisco office, which was formed in 2012.
