BELLEFONTE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HomeServe USA (HomeServe), a leading provider of home emergency repair service plans, today announced a partnership with the Pennsylvania Rural Water Association (PRWA) to enable PRWA member water utilities to offer water line, sewer line and in-home plumbing repair service plans to customers in their communities. The optional plans help protect homeowners from the headache and expense of service line and other emergency household plumbing repairs not traditionally covered by homeowners insurance policies.
HomeServe’s affordable coverage plans offer homeowners protection against the expense and hassle of emergency repairs, including water and sewer service line breaks and interior plumbing problems. HomeServe plan holders will have access to a Repair Hotline that is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to bring local, licensed, and insured contractors right to their home for repairs. The plans can save homeowners hundreds or even thousands of dollars across a variety of plumbing repairs.
“Most homeowners do not realize that they are responsible for water and service line repairs, and one of the first places they turn to for help when faced with this type of emergency is their local utility or municipal provider,” said Tom Rusin, CEO of HomeServe USA. “Customers expect their utilities, as trusted providers, to be able to offer them some sort of assistance. PRWA’s new program enables members to offer a solution to their customers before they are faced with a problem.”
“PRWA believes that protection plans for water and sewer lines are not only important for residents as a means of financial security; they also serve as an important customer service tool and add a new source of revenue for our member utilities,” said Joe Falcone, Executive Director, Chief Financial Officer, PRWA. “We researched the repair service plan industry and proudly selected HomeServe as the provider we wanted to endorse to our members.”
Partnership opportunities are available from HomeServe for utilities and municipalities of all sizes. Utilities with fewer than 10,000 connections can join with HomeServe under the PRWA umbrella program. PRWA member utility systems can contact PRWA directly for more information, visit www.prwa.com/Homeserve, or contact HomeServe at 203-840-8226 to discuss partnership options. PRWA members can also read more about the benefits of partnering with HomeServe in the latest issue of the Keystone Tap, the PRWA’s quarterly newsletter.
