Eric Noe Joins TakePart.com as Editor-in-Chief

Former ABCNews.com Exec to Lead Editorial for Participant Media’s Growing Socially Relevant Site

LOS ANGELES--()--TakePart (TakePart.com), Participant Media’s digital news and lifestyle magazine and social action platform for the conscious consumer, announced today that veteran journalist Eric Noe has joined the growing website as its Editor-In-Chief.

“Eric has a proven track record in developing compelling and authoritative stories,” said Karina Kogan, EVP TakePart. “His extensive management experience in a digital newsroom will be an incredible asset as we continue to reach broader and more engaged audiences.”

TakePart.com is a subsidiary of Participant Media, the company behind Pivot television network, and over 50 films. The site drives millions of social actions each year through its TakePart Action Platform (TAP) and has more than doubled in unique visitors year over year (comScore MediaMetrix).

Noe joins the site from ABC News Digital, where he was most recently the managing editor. Having spent 10 years at ABC, Noe led ABC News Digital through the past two presidential elections, the capture of Osama bin Laden, the Boston Marathon Bombings, and coverage of Hurricane Sandy's devastation in New York, New Jersey and the Northeast. ABC News (television and digital) was awarded a Peabody Award for its coverage of Hurricane Sandy.

Noe will be responsible for executing TakePart’s editorial strategy, running day-to-day content operations (currently publishing over 500 stories each month), continuing to expand TakePart’s reach and engagement and achieving the brand’s mission to inspire and accelerate social change by connecting content to action. Noe and his team will also lead the integration of digital programming and social engagement with TakePart Live, Pivot’s nightly news talk show hosted by Meghan McCain and Jacob Soboroff (10 PM ET/ 7PM PT).

“This is an exciting time to join TakePart, given its tremendous growth in the last year and the rising tide of engagement with solutions-driven programming,” Noe said. “I’m looking forward to being part of a unique double bottom line media company that invests in high-quality content with a purpose.”

Prior to joining ABC News in 2004, Noe was a Business and News Reporter for Reuters, based in Chicago and a writer for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
