Starkey Hearing Foundation Announces 14th Annual So the World May Hear Awards Gala Honorees and Performers

Celebrities and Supporters Will Celebrate Humanitarians

MINNEAPOLIS--()--Starkey Hearing Foundation is excited to announce its honorees and performers for the 2014 So the World May Hear Annual Awards Gala, scheduled for Sunday, July 20, 2014, at the Saint Paul RiverCentre in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Starkey Hearing Foundation will honor remarkable humanitarians for their dedication to changing the lives of others, including:

  • Archbishop Desmond Tutu – The Desmond Tutu Peace Centre
  • Forest Whitaker – The Whitaker Peace and Development Initiative
  • Sandi Young – Humanitarian
  • Prince Seeiso of Lesotho – Sentebale
  • Bassam Aramin, Mazen Faraj, Abraham Elhanan and Ayelet Harel – The Parents Circle-Families Forum

This year’s roster of So the World May Hear Gala entertainers includes Grammy Award-winning performers Sammy Hagar and John Legend, event emcee Norm Crosby and more surprises to come.

Other VIPs, celebrities and athletes expected to be in attendance include: Derrick Coleman, Greg Jennings, Brandon Marshall, NaVorro Bowman, Paul Molitor, Dave Winfield, Dikembe Mutombo, Shannon Elizabeth, Verne Troyer, Marlee Matlin, Patrick Warburton and many more yet to be announced.

The So the World May Hear Awards Gala is Starkey Hearing Foundation’s largest annual fundraiser. At the record-setting 2013 Gala, more than $8 million was raised to support the Foundation’s work around the world. The Foundation fits more than 100,000 hearing aids annually to children and adults in need, and has committed to providing more than 1 million hearing aids this decade.

Many high-profile supporters attend the Foundation’s Gala and also volunteer on hearing missions throughout the year. In the last year alone, well-known figures like President Bill Clinton, President George W. Bush, Chelsea Clinton, Barbara Bush, Sir Richard Branson, Garth Brooks, Larry Fitzgerald, Adrian Peterson, Tony Hawk and many others have joined the Foundation’s hearing missions and helped provide the gift of hearing to those in need.
