Major Companies Establishing Headquarters Operations in Northeast Florida

Leading businesses also expanding in area, generating jobs and capital investment

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--()--Four prominent companies have selected the Jacksonville region as the site for their new U.S. headquarters operations, as announced by JAXUSA Partnership, joining the six Fortune 1000 and three Fortune 500 company headquarters currently operating in the area.

Adecco Group North America, the nation’s leading provider of workforce and recruitment solutions, plans to move its corporate headquarters from New York to Jacksonville, bringing with it 185 high-wage jobs and an investment of $3.4 million in the local economy as a result of this relocation.

Moving its headquarters and manufacturing facility to the area from Central Florida, Ideal Aluminum manufacturers aluminum products that are sold in more than 20 states and the Caribbean. The company is investing in 90 new jobs and a $6.5 million capital investment.

A shipping management company, TOTE Services, is moving its headquarters to the region from New Jersey. Company executives cited the region’s central location and proximity to its sister company, Sea Star Lines, as factors in its selection. In addition, Jacksonville will also be the new headquarters home to Defenshield Inc., a maker of ballistic protection equipment.

More than 80 national or division headquarters are in Northeast Florida, such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, BI-LO/Winn-Dixie Stores, Swisher International, EverBank and Ring Power Corporation. The area’s workforce, comprised of more than 750,000 people with a median age of 37, provides a young and dynamic talent pool for companies to utilize and employ.

Two expansion projects are also underway in the area. Sunshine Health, a subsidiary of Fortune 500 company Centene Corporation that provides managed health care solutions, is expanding its operations in the area by adding 125 new employees and investing close to $1 million in the local economy.

San Francisco-based Advent Software selected Northeast Florida to grow and expand after acquiring Black Diamond Performance, a cloud-based portfolio management platform, largely due to the area’s available talent pool and welcoming business community.

“More companies are locating their regional, national or global headquarters in Northeast Florida due to our skilled workforce, favorable business climate, affordable cost of living and quality of life that provides an attractive lifestyle for relocating executives and company employees,” said JAXUSA Partnership President Jerry Mallot.
