Pluribus Networks Wins Interop Tokyo Best of Show Cloud Platform Award

Network hypervisor with analytics and OpenStack capabilities impresses judges

Interop Tokyo 2014

PALO ALTO, Calif.--()--Pluribus Networks, the company that delivers server economics to networking by bringing together compute, network, storage and virtualization into a single, open and programmable SDN platform, has won the Best of Show award in the Cloud Platform category at Interop Tokyo. This award validates the company’s SDN technology and, specifically, its Netvisortm network hypervisor. Interop Tokyo is one of the largest technology shows in APAC, with an estimated 140,000 attendees.

Interop judges commended Pluribus’ highly innovative architecture that addresses both application bottlenecks and rack problems. The live demonstration included an integrated solution with Netvisor-based fabric cluster, cloud orchestration leveraging OpenStack, and sophisticated analytics based on Qosient Argus and the programmability of the Netvisor platform.

"Software-defined infrastructure was the focus of Interop 2014 and we demonstrated Netvisor's capabilities as a Type 1 hypervisor for a new generation of switches that help virtualize the network. Using OpenStack as a cloud controller combined with merchant silicon-based switch chips, we were able to offer a more open solution," said Sunay Tripathi, co-founder and CTO of Pluribus. "Among all of the solutions in the same category, including VMware’s SDDC, Dell, IBM, Juniper Networks and others, our live demonstration of the fabric-cluster and application/VM-level analytics stood out and was appreciated by the judges who understood the technology and customer needs very well."

This award follows the Red Herring North America Top 100 award that Pluribus won in May.
