Virtustream Included in the 2014 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service

Evaluation based on completeness of vision and ability to execute

WASHINGTON--()--Virtustream, the enterprise-class cloud software and services provider, today announced it has been included by Gartner, Inc. in the “Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)” for the third consecutive year. The report evaluates cloud IaaS providers, listing the top 15 leading vendors worldwide.

According to Gartner, the IaaS market is the fastest growing area of public cloud computing that the firm tracks, with a projected compound annual growth rate of 41.3 percent through 2016. To rank in the highly competitive Magic Quadrant for Cloud IaaS report, vendors must offer high-quality service, with excellent availability, performance, security and customer support.

“Our success at winning large-scale enterprise deals and continued commitment to meeting security, performance and compliance needs positioned us well for this year’s Gartner Magic Quadrant for Cloud IaaS,” said Rodney Rogers, Chairman and CEO, Virtustream. “We are honored to be included among such a prestigious group of cloud providers for the third year in a row and look forward to continuing the trend for years to come.”

This announcement is also reflective of the continued growth and expansion of the company in the enterprise-class cloud market. Earlier this year, Virtustream announced the acquisition of privately held ViewTrust Technology, Inc. (ViewTrust), an advanced security and compliance technology firm. The acquisition allowed Virtustream to further enhance its industry-leading security and compliance capabilities and expand offerings for commercial and government customers.

For enterprises seeking to move legacy mission-critical and web-scale production applications to the cloud, Virtustream is the enterprise-class cloud service that is both highly scalable and performance assured across the broadest range of application needs and service-level agreements. With advanced features such as µVM (micro-VM) resource optimization technology for enabling application-level SLAs and consumption-based billing, enterprise customers worldwide rely on Virtustream’s cloud services to reduce overall costs, turn capital expenditures into operational expenditures, and increase efficiency to free up resources across people, capacity and budgets.
