RightCare Named Winner of 2014 TiE50 Award

Medical Technology Company Recognized as One of the World’s Most Enterprising Technology Startups

HORSHAM, Pa.--()--RightCare, a pioneering medical technology company focused on improving patient outcomes and reducing readmissions, was selected as a winner of the prestigious 2014 TiE50 Award.

RightCare is a medical technology company located in Horsham, Pennsylvania, that provides hospitals and health systems a comprehensive, end-to-end software application comprised of three modules—RightCare Risk Assessment, RightCare Coordination Central, and RightCare Post Care Connect—designed to assess patient risk at the time of admission, ensure the appropriate care plan is offered, and seamlessly transition patient information to post-acute care providers. RightCare’s software, based on 10 years of academic and clinical research, has been proven to reduce readmission rates by as much as 35%.

“Winning the TiE50 Award is a true honor, and we are thrilled to have been recognized by such a prestigious organization,” said Eric Heil, Co-founder, President & CEO of RightCare. “This award highlights that our efforts to create a comprehensive solution focused on reducing readmissions and improving patient outcomes is not only impacting the healthcare industry, but the technology industry as well. Often the innovation behind our software is overlooked, so we are excited to shed some light on the hard work that went into developing this technology.”

“In the six years since inception, the TiE50 program has become a global brand that attracts thousands of companies worldwide for this recognition,” said Venktesh Shukla, president of TiE, Silicon Valley. “It is unique in terms of rigor of selection and the broad scope of companies that it reviews for this award and is one of TiE Silicon Valley’s most successful programs. It is also the only awards recognition in technology to be held by a large global non-profit organization. ”

To determine the winner, a panel of experts screened the companies and created a list of the “2014 TiE50 Top Startups.” About 100 of the best companies were then selected to the elite TiE50 Finalist pool. Finally, this pool of TiE50 Finalists was judged by a highly accomplished panel of serial entrepreneurs, investors, CEOs and well-rounded technology experts, to determine the winners. Companies were evaluated on three parameters: Business Model, IP Value and Leadership team.

More than 2800 companies from 27 countries were screened as part of the TiE50 selection process. The top 100 finalists showcased at TiEcon and the TiE50 award winners were chosen based on those presentations. The TiE50 track record since its inception in May 2009 shows that 94% of the winners and finalists have been funded, attracting billions in investments. Many of these companies have been acquired, merged or gone public.
