Avianca Holdings Reports Traffic Statistics For Its Airlines

BOGOTA, Colombia--()--In the first four months of 2014, Avianca Holdings S.A. (NYSE: AVH) (BVC: PFAVH) (*) affiliated airlines carried 8,252,146 passengers, a 4.4% increase over the same period in 2013. Capacity, measured in ASKs (available seat kilometers), increased 5.5% while passenger traffic, measured in RPKs (passenger revenue per kilometer flown), increased 3.1%. As a result, the load factor for the year stands at 77.9%.

In April, the subsidiary companies of Avianca Holdings transported 2,063,420 passengers, up 8.0% compared to April 2013. Capacity (ASKs), as well as passenger traffic (RPKs), increased 5.8%. The load factor for the month was 76.4%.

Domestic markets in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador

From January through April 2014, the number of passengers carried by the affiliated companies of Avianca Holdings within the domestic markets of Colombia, Peru and Ecuador was 4,879,653, up 6.7% compared to 2013. Capacity (ASKs) in these markets increased 6.4%, while passenger traffic (RPKs) increased 7.4%. As a result, the load factor was 77.5%.

In April, the subsidiary airlines of Avianca Holdings transported within these markets a total of 1,260,103 travelers, up 12.2% compared to April 2013. Capacity (ASKs) increased 6.5%, while passenger traffic (RPKs) increased 13.9%. As a result, the load factor was 78.2%.

International markets

From January through April 2014, the number of passengers carried on international routes was 3,372,493, up 1.2% compared to the same period in 2013. Capacity (ASKs) grew 5.3%, while passenger traffic (RPKs) increased 2.0%. As a result, the load factor increased to 78.1%.

In April, the affiliated airlines of Avianca Holdings transported 803,317 passengers on international routes, up 2.0% compared to April 2013. Capacity (ASKs) increased 5.6%, while passenger traffic (RPKs) grew about 3.7%. As a result the load factor stood at 76.0%.
