MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DoubleTree by Hilton, one of Hilton Worldwide’s 10 market-leading brands, is sweetening up this Thursday by expanding National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day to a global celebration and offering its iconic chocolate chip cookies to anyone who walks into one of the brand’s more than 370 hotels worldwide – with or without a reservation. The celebration will continue at several of the nation’s airports, where DoubleTree by Hilton will surprise travelers by conducting cookie giveaways to Delta Air Lines passengers in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle and St. Paul, Minn., as well as American Airlines passengers in 13 America Airlines Admirals Club® lounges in Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, Miami and New York City.
Hotel and corporate team members will also share some “Cookie Care” in Nashville, Tenn., home to the baker of the brand’s signature treat, The Christie Cookie Co. In the pay it forward spirit, each person in Nashville will receive two cookies – one to keep and one to share. DoubleTree by Hilton will also be donating 200 cookies to the Martha O’Bryan Center, a non-profit organization in Nashville that empowers youth and adults in poverty to transform their lives.
The initiative is part of DoubleTree by Hilton’s global “Cookie Care” campaign, which launched this spring to celebrate the brand’s milestone of more than 300 million cookies presented to guests as a warm welcome at hotel check-in. The program takes the brand’s sweet treat beyond hotel doors to surprise people at high-profile events and important moments. Consumers will also have a chance to “pay it forward” via DoubleTree social media channels by answering the question, “Who else deserves some Cookie Care?”
“At DoubleTree by Hilton, we strive to bring each guest the special comforts and acts of kindness that are unique to our brand – starting with the warm chocolate chip cookie welcome and spreading through every stage of the hotel stay,” said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “At each of our properties around the world, the cookie is the first ‘little thing’ that a guest experiences. It’s our way of bringing the human touch back to travel – the traveler’s reward – and we look forward to extending that to many more people through our Cookie Care program and worldwide celebration of National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day.”
