“Innovative technology in the classroom is key to revitalizing the educational experience and leveraging shifts in the digital learning space,” said Karen Billings, vice president for the SIIA Education Division. “This year’s Innovation Incubator participants have provided products that are central to keeping our students engaged while promoting creativity and entrepreneurship.”
“It is quite an honor to be selected by SIIA as one of the most promising new companies in education technology,” said Sabari Raja, Nepris CEO and founder. “The SIIA selection panel and process is a rigorous one and being in the top ten adds to our confidence that Nepris is an education technology resource appreciated by educators and education industry stakeholders.”
With Nepris.com, teachers enter requests for experts and professionals to speak to their students virtually through an online system that manages every step of the process. The sessions vary in type: the professionals might help students complete a project, or evaluate it based on the teacher’s rubric, or simply talk about their work in STEM and how it relates to everyday life. For teachers, this brings real-world relevance into the classroom without having to go through the administrative work of having an expert visit their classroom. Teachers can tie their sessions to state standards or the Common Core and align them to intended learning outcomes.
Over 1,000 teachers from 40 states have signed up with Nepris since completion of pilot testing just four months ago. Individual teachers from elementary, middle or high schools can sign up for free access for a limited time. Teacher, school and district licenses are also available.
