JERSEY CITY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TD Ameritrade Institutional1 is pleased to announce its first-ever Veo® Integrated Awards, recognizing six innovative technology companies that have maximized the capabilities of TD Ameritrade’s Veo open access platform to deliver technology that helps make independent registered investment advisors (“RIAs”) more productive, more efficient and more satisfied.
The awards, which seek to foster innovation throughout the advisor technology community, were presented during TD Ameritrade Institutional’s fifth annual Veo Open Access Technology Summit, a unique event which brings together leading software providers and fosters industry efforts to enable greater innovation and integration of advisor technology. This year, representatives from nearly 20 different technology firms attended the Summit.
There were three award categories. The Innovation Award went to companies whose technology has the deepest level of integration with Veo and with other third party applications. The Newcomer of the Year Award recognized innovative technology companies that first went live with their Veo integration in 2013. The Advisor Satisfaction Award winners were chosen based on a survey of nearly 500 registered independent advisors using the services of TD Ameritrade Institutional. The inaugural winners are:
Innovation Award
- Orion Advisor Services (Portfolio Management)
- Redtail Technology (Customer Relationship Management)
Advisor Satisfaction Award
- Junxure (Customer Relationship Management)
- MoneyGuidePro (Financial Planning)
Newcomer of the Year Award
- AdvisoryWorld (Analytics)
- Morningstar Office (Portfolio Management)
“We want to thank these firms for their leadership in leveraging the flexibility of Veo and achieving the highest levels of technology integration,” said Jon Patullo, managing director of technology solutions at TD Ameritrade Institutional. “These companies are giving RIAs the tools they need to serve their clients better, increase efficiency and improve their firms’ financial performance.”
TD Ameritrade in 2010 became the first major advisor custodian to open up its platform for advisors to third-party software firms through an open application programming interface (“API”). Today more than 65 technology providers integrate key advisor applications with Veo, simplifying and streamlining such routine tasks as account opening, trading, managing customer data and accessing client data on mobile devices. Another 20 firms are actively working on integrating their technology, further expanding the number of choices for advisors.
The Veo platform’s open architecture approach allows advisors at TD Ameritrade to gain efficiency and scale through integration, gives them flexibility to work with existing technology and lets advisors work with the vendor that meets their needs. Integration is the key reason why TD Ameritrade Institutional has had the most "very satisfied" advisors among RIA custodians in Financial Planning’s annual Technology Survey for the past two years.2
The Innovation Awards and Newcomer of the Year Awards were selected by a committee of TD Ameritrade technology executives based on a number of criteria, including the depth of a product’s integration with Veo, its integration with other third party applications and level of adoption by advisors.
The award committee’s methodology was reviewed and validated by Joel Bruckenstein, CFP®, a consultant, writer, publisher of Technology Tools for Today, and president of fee-only financial planning firm Global Financial Advisors, Inc.
