SAN FRANCISCO--()--Weebly, a global service that lets everyone create a high-quality website that they are proud to share, today announced ‘Start Your Something,’ a movement to empower anyone with an idea or passion to turn it into a business. As part of Start Your Something, Weebly will debut its Inspiration Center, a hub offering expert advice from well-known entrepreneurs and members of the Weebly community to inspire more people to start their something and bring their idea to life.

Weebly believes the future lies in entrepreneurship and the ability for individuals to participate in the Personal Economy. Start Your Something aims to break down the barriers for aspiring entrepreneurs – or anyone with an idea for a business – that keep them from pursuing their passions.

“We are living in an incredibly exciting time when it’s easier than ever before for people to start something of their own,” said David Rusenko, CEO and Co-Founder of Weebly. “Most people have an idea for a business but at the same time, many aspiring entrepreneurs don’t know how to get their idea off the ground and don’t realize how accessible it is, that’s exactly where Weebly wants to help.”

The Start Your Something Inspiration Center will feature helpful articles, expert advice, videos and dialogue from successful entrepreneurs centered around common challenges faced when starting a business. Specific topics will focus on the idea phase, including tips on getting started and building a web presence as well as advice on how to identify your customer, grow your community and build a brand. Examples include:

  • Alexis Ohanian, founder, reddit, on building your brand on reddit
  • Caesar Chu, founder, The Original Whiskey Ball, on advertising on a tight budget
  • Geoff Cook, partner, Base Design, on developing your brand
  • Nicholas Graham, founder, Joe Boxer, on starting your own business

“Being a mom and having my own business is the best thing that’s happened to me,” said April Lovett who started yoga studio UnfoldYogaOC.com with Weebly and is featured in the campaign. “I fell in love with yoga while I was pregnant with my daughter and wanted to transition from a hectic career to something that would give me more time to spend with my family. I had never created a site before and Weebly helped me get my idea off the ground and build my community on a budget.”

Every month, 175 million people visit over 20 million Weebly sites worldwide. In the US alone, 33 percent of the total Internet population visits a Weebly site each month; that’s up from 25 percent last year. As more people embrace the concept of the Personal Economy and starting a business of their own, Weebly is seeing tremendous demand for its technology which enables anyone to easily and affordably create a high-quality website, blog or online store to bring their idea to the world.
