SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DivX, LLC, a leading provider of next-generation digital video solutions, today announced that the company’s MainConcept® H.264 Broadcast codec SDK, which powers many of the world’s leading professional media software solutions, now supports the encoding and decoding of XAVC and XAVC S 4K formats.

The XAVC format, developed by Sony and introduced in October 2012, supports 4K resolutions at up to 60 frames per second and is used by the Sony CineAlta line of cameras, PMW-F55/F5. With the addition of the format to the renowned MainConcept SDK, broadcast workflows will be able to easily add support for high-quality 4K content.

Latest additions to the new H.264 Broadcast Codec SDK from MainConcept include:
- Import support for XAVC including XAVC S
- Full import and export support for XAVC HD/4K (LongGOP) Profile, XAVC HD Intra Profile class 50/100/200, XAVC 4K Intra Profile class 100/300/480.
- Video encoding for XAVC S HD/4K.
