NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Qualifacts Systems, Inc., announced today at their annual users’ conference the release of a comprehensive needs and outcomes management tool CareLogic IMPACT. The educational self-service tool integrates standardized instruments directly into the clinical workflow and automated reporting gives all stakeholders, including clinicians and clients, real-time feedback. The ability to measure and track clinical improvements is a requirement of healthcare reform and value-based payment models, and this essential tool is immediately available to all Qualifacts’ customers through the integration with the company’s CareLogic Enterprise electronic health record.
According to Qualifacts Chief Technology Officer Gregg Boyle, the real power of CareLogic Impact is realized through its access to the industry’s largest repository of behavioral health data.
“While other vendors have data in fragmented systems, our EHR’s single platform means users of CareLogic IMPACT have immediate access to the largest behavioral health database in the country. That level of peer comparison data is unprecedented in its depth and accuracy,” says Boyle. “With 30-percent year over year data growth, the value of the data and peer comparisons continues to grow.”
CareLogic Impact currently has embedded over a dozen standardized, evidence-based instruments, and Qualifacts is the first vendor to integrate the DLA-20™ assessment, a tool that reliably defines successful functioning in 20 independent activities of daily living and is required in several states. Willa Presmanes, consultant with MTM Services and creator of the DLA-20™, saw that integrating the instrument into electronic processes would make the information more accessible and trusted Qualifacts to maintain the instrument’s integrity.
“Providers asked for the ability to track the DLA-20™ database, from baseline intake over time in order to communicate progress to individuals being served as well as their prescribers and measure outcomes,” says Presmanes. “Well-designed, integrated databases incorporating the DLA-20™ provide a trustworthy, HIPAA-protected and time-sensitive system for inter-disciplinary communication, and the behavioral health providers we serve found CareLogic easy to use.”
CareLogic IMPACT is very flexible with graphical representations of assessment data per instrument. For customers like Michelle Inman, assistant director of performance improvement for DuPage County Health Department, the ability to look at historical data while completing the assessment will create true improvements in their use of the DLA-20™.
“Daily living activities is where we see the most deficits with our clients, but having the DLA-20™ on paper means we’re not able to use it to its full potential,” says Inman. “Integrating the assessment into CareLogic and being able to share the visual information with clients in session is a game changer.”
Christy Winter, Qualifacts’ manager of clinical informatics and outcomes and an industry leader in behavioral health outcomes strategy, spearheaded this product initiative, and is working directly with CareLogic customers to develop comprehensive outcomes programs at their organizations.
“Every clinician, every agency wants to know how they are progressing towards their mission,” says Winter. “CareLogic IMPACT, integrated with the DLA-20™, helps clinicians measure change over time for their clients and identifies opportunities to individualize and improve treatment interventions. It’s not just about the data; it’s about meaningful feedback to inform treatment and maximize the impact of services on individuals and families.”
Presmanes and Winter will present an informational webinar about CareLogic Impact and the integration of the DLA-20™ on Tuesday, April 1 at 1:00 pm CDT. Registration information is at http://pages.qualifacts.com/201404DLA20webinar_Registration.html.
