Three Senior Professionals Join Signal Hill, Strengthen the Firm’s West Coast Practice

Seven Hills Co-Founder Eric Edmondson and Senior Bankers Ed Leonard and George Montgomery Join Signal Hill’s San Francisco Office

SAN FRANCISCO & BALTIMORE--()--Signal Hill, a leading independent advisory boutique serving the M&A and private capital raising needs of growth companies, is pleased to announce that Eric Edmondson, co-founder of Seven Hills Partners, a highly-regarded San Francisco-based independent investment banking advisory firm, has joined the firm as a Managing Director in its San Francisco office. Also joining Signal Hill from Seven Hills are Ed Leonard and George Montgomery, Jr., who have been named Managing Director and Senior Advisor, respectively. With these new additions, Signal Hill, which has closed more than 600 transactions with industry-leading companies, has grown its global banking team to 70+ professionals in eight offices worldwide.

Eric Edmondson brings to Signal Hill thirty years of investment banking experience across the Technology, Healthcare and Business Services sectors. Prior to co-founding Seven Hills in 2002, Mr. Edmondson served as co-head of the Global Technology Group for ING Barings and its predecessor, Furman Selz. Earlier in his career, he was the Head of Technology Investment Banking and the Western Region for Kidder Peabody and a Director in the Technology practice with CS First Boston. He received an MBA from the Wharton School and his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth.

Ed Leonard has more than fifteen years of investment banking experience focusing on the Technology sector. He joined Seven Hills as a Partner in 2002 after having spent five years as a Managing Director of Broadview International. Before embarking on his investment banking career, Mr. Leonard was a Partner and Head of the Business and Technology practice for the law firm of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. While at Brobeck, he represented several prominent technology companies, including Cisco and NetApp. He was lead counsel to Cisco’s first 19 acquisitions, including its $4.5 billion acquisition of StrataCom. Mr. Leonard was a carrier pilot in the US Navy and from 1995-2009 was Chairman of the San Francisco Fleet Week Committee. He earned a JD from Stanford and a BA from Yale.

Before joining Seven Hills in 2002, George Montgomery was a General Partner and Managing Director with Hambrecht & Quist and its successor, JP Morgan H&Q. He is a Trustee and former Board Chairman of the Environmental Defense Fund and served on the Board of the California Academy of Sciences. He received an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a BA from Yale.
