David Kendrick Joins NCQA Board of Directors

WASHINGTON--()--The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) announced today the newest member of its Board of Directors: David Kendrick, MD, principle investigator and CEO of the MyHealth Access Network, a Beacon Community. Dr. Kendrick was elected to the board in December.

“David Kendrick has developed impressive strategies to implement healthcare IT in ways that improve the availability and usefulness of data to support clinical decision making and improve health care quality,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “I am looking forward to his valuable contributions as a Board member.”

MyHealth Access Network provides advanced health information exchange, community-wide care coordination tools, and a robust decision support platform to support providers in providing high quality, coordinated care.

Dr. Kendrick is an associate professor of medicine and pediatrics and the Kaiser Chair of Community Medicine at the University of Oklahoma’s School of Community Medicine. In addition, he serves the University’s Health Sciences Center as the Assistant Provost for Strategic Planning and serves as the Chair of the Department of Community Medical Informatics.

NCQA is governed by an independent Board of Directors, composed of 15 members and the NCQA president. The NCQA board pulls together multi-stakeholder perspectives to guide NCQA in its work to improve health care quality. It includes representatives from purchasers, clinicians, public policy experts, consumer groups and health systems.
